Deployment Package for my Hubby!
There are a few things I always put in my Hubby's packages, golf magazines and Jack Links beef jerky are on the top of my list. If you haven't seen the hilarious Sasquatch commercials I posted my fav one below. I swear me and my husband and friend OD must have watched it a hundred times and it never got old!! My favorite part is when he is chasing the bunny and looks up and goes "ohhh" I can't really type the sound, but it is awesome!
This package he got extra spoiled I sent my rocky road brownies (just added walnuts and marshmallows, not very pretty but very delicious) PB chunky of course, top ramen, Snyder's pretzels, face wipes, underwear (they seem to disappear on the boat!) and my dad bought him a few magazines and a golf book he said it was the best golf book ever- Golf in the Kingdom- I read the back and it seemed like it would be great for my Hubby so I hope he likes it in four to six weeks when he finally gets his package!!
It seems to be taking at least a month to reach the boat, however I have friends in Afghanistan and Iraq and they get there's in about a week. Out of the dozens of packages I have sent only one has ever gotten lost- and it was headed to Balad.. no idea where it ended up ;)
Here are a few pictures of our little princess for my Hubby since we seem to not be able to get pictures through E-mail on either end! This is when we were crafting outside, she loves it because she can run all over the backyard, bark at the dogs next door, chase squirrels and roll around in the dirt. When we came inside last weekend she was a different color she had rolled in the dirt so much! Good thing she goes to the groomer every two weeks!

Wrapping paper as a drawer liner?!?
I was pretty productive this weekend, finished the nightstands, mod podged the drawer liners, and painted the stool for my vanity :) At first I wasn't sure how the drawer liners would look, but they are amazing!
Finally painted and applied the wipe on poly to my nightstands! Now I just need to put the handles back on and they are done. I painted two coats of a Martha Stewart Grey paint, then I used my sander on the edges to give it that shabby chis look. Then two coats of wipe-on poly (it yellows a little, but if you are going for an antique or shabby chic look it works). The paint stripping was def the hardest part! The rest was easy and fun.
I then used some wrapping paper that was left over from wedding projects and mod podged it into the drawers. I made a paper template of the drawers and then cut the wrapping paper to fit. I applied a layer of mod podge and laid the paper down, then put a layer of mod podge on top and let it dry. I may apply another layer or something on top, I'm not quite sure what to do!
And after.. they look pretty awesome and were not that difficult to do! So now I have a pretty and permanent drawer liner!
I love this and have done it to all my drawers!
XOXO,
Annie

Se non è vero, è ben trovato...
... Even if it's not true, it makes a good story.
I started with and easy appetizer, Caprese. I went to the farmer's market on Saturday morning and bought fresh basil and tomatoes then to the grocery store for some fresh mozzarella, I prefer Buffalo mozzarella, but it can be hard to find. Whole Foods typically has it, but Safeway doesn't. So basically you just slice the mozzarella and tomatoes and place them on the plate. I cut the basil with a pair of scissors, but leaving it whole looks nice too. Then I drizzles a little oil and vinegar and I was done :)
So for my lasagna I used an old family recipe.. the back of the box of lasagna noodles! The oven ready kind, while I find it easier and tasty, I prefer the older more tiresome method of precooking the noodles. My pasta sauce however was made from scratch, thanks mom! All you need is pasta sauce, noodles, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and shredded mozzarella. I like a lot of cheese on top, which is not as pretty but is super yummy!!

Alameda Flea Market
I'm not sure if it was the hangover or the overcast sky, but I was having trouble finding my inspiration at the Faire this month, but don't worry I eventually found it!!
This month I seemed to be in love with mirrors..
This may not look good anywhere, but a beach house, but I love it and in the right house it would be a great mantle piece.
These are all made out of reclaimed materials, a lot were made out of tires and can be used as planters. Such a great idea!
My mom and her sister's got a set of these one year for Christmas and she still loves them!
These were cut out of metal and painted... so perfect, a teenage girl bought a few for her room, but I think they would look great out back on our fence too.
